The Brief

Abstract photography can be a forgotten and over looked art form in itself. From galleries to restaurants to homes. They make beautiful wall pieces and as such we would be pleased to see what everyone comes up with. Good Luck!

Street Photographers 2010

LSEPS is here to keep you updated with events all around. So now on a sudden rush here's an information about a Photography Competition which has a cash prize along. So not only you'd be representing LSE you also would be getting a cash prize. So pick your cameras up and shoot and this time the theme is SOCIAL CAUSE

INFORMATION ABOUT THE COMPETITION

PART 1: COMPETITION AND REGISTRATION PROCEDURE


Registration starts 18th May, 2010
Registration forms to be handed in to the institutional rep. along with the registration fee of Rs. 500.
Private participants contact organizers for registration Details.

PHASE II:
The applicants will be sent a confirmation email after their registration.
The photographs need to be submitted via email on the id: streetphotographers10@hotmail.com no later than 30th June, 2010
Photos should not be stolen or copied from any website, In such case the participant will be disqualified.
Registration will end on 5th July, 2010 and the judgment procedure will hence starts.
The judgment criteria will be provided by the judges and they will be posted here as well.

2nd Prize: 3000
3rd Prize: 2000


Part 2: WORKSHOP AND AWARD CEREMONY
The award ceremony will be conducted along with the launch function of CA.
After a week or two, the free workshop will be conducted for the participants. People other then winners of the competition will have to pay for it.
Judges will be our guest speakers and will conduct two rounds of discussions for the audience:
o Presentations round on the photographs of the participants,
o Practical demonstration of the typical mistakes that most people make during taking pictures for competitions,
And also there can be briefing on the use of Post-Processing softwares readily available for the professional touch in the photos.

CREATIVE ALLEY along with LINEAR EVENTS AND MANAGEMENT would be organizing this.

Rules:
Participants will be taken to Badshahi Mosque and Lahore Fort
All Photographs will be taken in that location, no photograph can be taken beforehand
There are two categories; "People" and "Architecture"
Each participant has to submit one photo in each category

The orange-red ember glows in the black night it glows brighter every second because we have bad lives and we don't know how to cope so we smoke but the thing we forget is even the 'flowers wither with this burning piece of disaster' so NO SMOKING please....

I like smoking.... I like the bitter tang on my tongue, I like the searing down and up on my throat, I like the dramatic mock coughing from strangers, I like the cold winter winds on my parched lips, I like sneaking out at midnight, I like brushing my teeth and changing my shirts to hide the scent, I like the negative advertising campaigns, I like the searching and questioning looks at CVS, I like the pull as it leaves my mouth, and I like the burn.

I like smoking as it's far more better then crying.... this is coming from a person who doesn't smoke...

I have to say life is like a cigarette...Sweet in the beginning malignant at the end or you may call it bitter...But that's not all... On one end of a cigarette; A flame... The other... An Idiot... But i guess we are all idots aren't we? Millions of people smoke... So there must be flames... Flames adjacent to us... And they're getting closer to us.. Burning isn't pleasant... But it's the end.... EVEN THE FLOWERS WITHER AS A CIGERRETE BURNS... Seriously possessive, that's the smoke that licks our cheek, seeping down our collar to the flesh below... It has its claws in us somewhere, deep in our mind... Possessive. That's the smoke... Caress with a silky taint; that kiss of death, Possessive, that's the smoke. So no smoking please... as its not only affect the smoker but the surrounding as well....
