Participants will be taken to Badshahi Mosque and Lahore Fort
All Photographs will be taken in that location, no photograph can be taken beforehand
There are two categories; "People" and "Architecture"
Each participant has to submit one photo in each category

LUMS Olympiad 2010

LUMS OLYMPIAD 2010; yes another event in which the team of Lahore School of Economics went and left a mark. No this time we didn't win lots and lots of awards won few, but this time led a new trend. Yes we were called the trend setters there, Saad durani along with Zaid Nasir won the click flick competition by making a superb poster. And Ubaid Ullah Ahmed the student who participated in the PHOTO ESSAY did a tremendous job by coming up with a concept which dealt with social issues along with life itself. The theme given in Photo essay was SIX DEGREES OF SEPARATION. He didn't win because he printed the pictures of wrong size, yes negligence from LUMS side by not informing the right details, but was awarded with flowers and got really appreciated by Umair Ghani infront of the whole auditorium and over 30 different colleges and universities.

On other hand Shaan along with his team rocked the MOVIE TRIVIA competition by getting to the finals. They knew like every single thing about the movies yet lost by few marks in the final. But getting through till the finals was a great accomplishment.

Music videos are always hard to make, but its never hard if we have as creative students as LSE has. Fareed and his team did a great work with music video by pulling it off.

So olympiad was great... But next time we are going to make it big with more participants and rock it like anything.

The whole coverage of LUMS OLYMPIAD 2010 was done by Ubaid Ullah Ahmed who was officialy representing LSE and its Photography Society as well.

The Lahore School Debate 2010

Government college university has won the Lahore School Debate 2010 by the virtue of a 3-2 split decision in the grand final against Punjab College of Business Administration.

Earlier, the parliamentary debating competition of the Lahore School of Economics Association of Debaters, the Lahore School Debate 2010 started at the Lahore School of Economics on February 5, 2010). The Lahore School Debate followed the All-Asian Parliamentary Style of Debates, which employs the 3-on-3 debating format, with reply speeches. The Lahore School Debate consisted of six preliminary rounds (2 closed and one custom free-speech), followed by the knockout stages of the quarterfinals (8 breaks), semi-finals (4 breaks) and the grand final (2 breaks).

Entry No. 5 - REFLECTION

The orange-red ember glows in the black night it glows brighter every second because we have bad lives and we don't know how to cope so we smoke but the thing we forget is even the 'flowers wither with this burning piece of disaster' so NO SMOKING please....

I like smoking.... I like the bitter tang on my tongue, I like the searing down and up on my throat, I like the dramatic mock coughing from strangers, I like the cold winter winds on my parched lips, I like sneaking out at midnight, I like brushing my teeth and changing my shirts to hide the scent, I like the negative advertising campaigns, I like the searching and questioning looks at CVS, I like the pull as it leaves my mouth, and I like the burn.

I like smoking as it's far more better then crying.... this is coming from a person who doesn't smoke...

I have to say life is like a cigarette...Sweet in the beginning malignant at the end or you may call it bitter...But that's not all... On one end of a cigarette; A flame... The other... An Idiot... But i guess we are all idots aren't we? Millions of people smoke... So there must be flames... Flames adjacent to us... And they're getting closer to us.. Burning isn't pleasant... But it's the end.... EVEN THE FLOWERS WITHER AS A CIGERRETE BURNS... Seriously possessive, that's the smoke that licks our cheek, seeping down our collar to the flesh below... It has its claws in us somewhere, deep in our mind... Possessive. That's the smoke... Caress with a silky taint; that kiss of death, Possessive, that's the smoke. So no smoking please... as its not only affect the smoker but the surrounding as well....
